1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and CryptoShield Protocol ("CryptoShield", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the CryptoShield wallet verification service and website located at cryptoshield.io (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service in any manner, including visiting the website, initiating wallet verification, or accessing our API, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you are expressly prohibited from using the Service and must discontinue use immediately.

2. Description of Service

CryptoShield provides a cryptographic wallet verification protocol that enables users to prove ownership of a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet address and receive a verification certificate. The Service operates through a read-only WalletConnect v2 connection and a cryptographic message signing flow.

CryptoShield is not a cryptocurrency exchange, wallet provider, custodian, bank, investment advisor, or financial service provider. We do not hold, transmit, manage, or have any access to cryptocurrency assets. The Service is informational infrastructure only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. The Service is not available to individuals who are prohibited from entering into contracts under applicable law.

You represent that you are the rightful owner of the wallet address you are verifying. Verifying a wallet address that you do not own, or that belongs to another person without their explicit authorization, is a material breach of these Terms.

The Service may not be available in jurisdictions where its use is prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of the Service complies with all laws applicable in your jurisdiction.

4. No Account Required

CryptoShield does not require account creation to use the verification Service. The Service is designed to be used pseudonymously using only your wallet address as an identifier. We do not collect usernames, email addresses, or passwords as part of the standard verification flow.

5. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, CryptoShield grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for the purpose of verifying cryptocurrency wallet addresses that you own and control.

You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial use of the Service, including integration with third-party platforms via our API, is permitted subject to separate API terms of use that may apply.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the Service to verify a wallet address that you do not own or have authorization to verify.
  • Attempt to manipulate, circumvent, or interfere with the verification system in any way.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other non-human means to access the Service at scale without prior written authorization from CryptoShield.
  • Use the Service in connection with any illegal activity, including money laundering, fraud, or sanctions evasion.
  • Use a CryptoShield verification certificate to misrepresent the security, legitimacy, or status of a wallet to any third party.
  • Impersonate CryptoShield or misrepresent your affiliation with CryptoShield in any way.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any component of the Service without express written authorization.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, our servers, or any systems connected to the Service.
  • Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overload, or impair the Service or interfere with any other party's use of the Service.
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.

7. Intellectual Property

The CryptoShield name, logo, website design, and all related marks, trade names, and service marks are trademarks or registered trademarks of CryptoShield Protocol. All rights reserved.

The content of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, user interface, design elements, and the compilation thereof, is owned by or licensed to CryptoShield and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use CryptoShield's trademarks, logos, or proprietary marks without prior written consent.

Our smart contracts are open-source and available under the MIT License. The terms governing the smart contract code are set out in the respective license files in those repositories.

8. Verification Certificates

Verification certificates issued by CryptoShield are records of a successful ownership verification at a specific point in time. They do not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of any kind regarding the security, legitimacy, or trustworthiness of a wallet or its associated entity.

A verification certificate does not represent financial advice, an investment recommendation, or any form of guarantee that a wallet is free from risk.

CryptoShield reserves the right to revoke or invalidate verification certificates at any time if we determine that the verification was obtained fraudulently, if the wallet address is associated with illegal activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CRYPTOSHIELD DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

CRYPTOSHIELD DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, BE ERROR-FREE, OR BE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. CRYPTOSHIELD DOES NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CRYPTOSHIELD, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF CRYPTOCURRENCY ASSETS, OR ANY OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

CryptoShield's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid CryptoShield for the Service in the twelve months prior to the claim, or (b) USD $100. As the Service is provided free of charge, CryptoShield's aggregate liability shall not exceed USD $100 in any circumstances.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CryptoShield and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service;
  • Your breach of any of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including any intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • Any misrepresentation you make in connection with the Service; or
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

12. Termination

CryptoShield reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have an active verification certificate, you may revoke it through the self-service revocation tool or by removing CryptoShield from your wallet's connected applications.

Sections 7 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), and 13 (Governing Law) shall survive any termination of these Terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Cayman Islands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any dispute as to their existence, validity, or termination, shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation between the parties for a period of 30 days. If not resolved through negotiation, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), with the seat of arbitration in the Cayman Islands.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.

14. Changes to Terms

CryptoShield reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide prior notice via the website homepage.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of updates.
