Last updated: 1 October 2024. By using CryptoShield, you agree to these terms.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and CryptoShield Protocol ("CryptoShield", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the CryptoShield wallet verification service and website located at cryptoshield.io (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service in any manner, including visiting the website, initiating wallet verification, or accessing our API, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you are expressly prohibited from using the Service and must discontinue use immediately.
CryptoShield provides a cryptographic wallet verification protocol that enables users to prove ownership of a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet address and receive a verification certificate. The Service operates through a read-only WalletConnect v2 connection and a cryptographic message signing flow.
CryptoShield is not a cryptocurrency exchange, wallet provider, custodian, bank, investment advisor, or financial service provider. We do not hold, transmit, manage, or have any access to cryptocurrency assets. The Service is informational infrastructure only.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. The Service is not available to individuals who are prohibited from entering into contracts under applicable law.
You represent that you are the rightful owner of the wallet address you are verifying. Verifying a wallet address that you do not own, or that belongs to another person without their explicit authorization, is a material breach of these Terms.
The Service may not be available in jurisdictions where its use is prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of the Service complies with all laws applicable in your jurisdiction.
CryptoShield does not require account creation to use the verification Service. The Service is designed to be used pseudonymously using only your wallet address as an identifier. We do not collect usernames, email addresses, or passwords as part of the standard verification flow.
Subject to these Terms, CryptoShield grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for the purpose of verifying cryptocurrency wallet addresses that you own and control.
You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial use of the Service, including integration with third-party platforms via our API, is permitted subject to separate API terms of use that may apply.
You agree that you will not:
The CryptoShield name, logo, website design, and all related marks, trade names, and service marks are trademarks or registered trademarks of CryptoShield Protocol. All rights reserved.
The content of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, user interface, design elements, and the compilation thereof, is owned by or licensed to CryptoShield and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use CryptoShield's trademarks, logos, or proprietary marks without prior written consent.
Our smart contracts are open-source and available under the MIT License. The terms governing the smart contract code are set out in the respective license files in those repositories.
Verification certificates issued by CryptoShield are records of a successful ownership verification at a specific point in time. They do not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of any kind regarding the security, legitimacy, or trustworthiness of a wallet or its associated entity.
A verification certificate does not represent financial advice, an investment recommendation, or any form of guarantee that a wallet is free from risk.
CryptoShield reserves the right to revoke or invalidate verification certificates at any time if we determine that the verification was obtained fraudulently, if the wallet address is associated with illegal activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

CryptoShield's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid CryptoShield for the Service in the twelve months prior to the claim, or (b) USD $100. As the Service is provided free of charge, CryptoShield's aggregate liability shall not exceed USD $100 in any circumstances.

Sections 7 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), and 13 (Governing Law) shall survive any termination of these Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Cayman Islands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
